Are you someone who snacks a lot or are you one of those who do not snack at all? So growing up in India, everyone is my family just had 3 main meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was absolutely no concept of snacks or small meals but if there’s one thing everyone would snack on along with their evening chai, it had to be crackers! And yes we would always snack on salty crackers, apparently that’s what “went well” with everyone’s chai!
Because I grew up like that, when I moved to US I had trouble finding those perfect salty crackers to go along with my chai. Sure there were options and I tried some but somehow none of them lived up to my expectations, not until I found RITZ® crackers. One bite into them and I knew this is just what I needed. Since then, RITZ® crackers have been my on the go snack almost everyday. Not only I munch on them with my chai but I also eat them as a post workout snack, just top them with some greek yogurt and chickpeas and you have for a very filling and healthy snack ready in minutes!
So recently I had few friends over at my place and I was wondering what to serve them for snack when I got this idea of topping RITZ® crackers with a mango cream cheese topping and chocolate sauce and serving them with fresh mint. Since spring is here, the flavors made so much sense! Delicious mango topped with fresh mint, you can’t really go wrong with it.
And so I rushed to my local Walmart store to grab few packets of the crackers. To my surprise there were so many RITZ® crackers to choose from. There was whole wheat, garlic butter, roasted vegetable to name a few! Because I love garlic so much, I grabbed few packs of RITZ® Garlic Butter to munch on and of course some regular RITZ® crackers for this recipe.
These mango chocolate bites come together in minutes and taste so good. Ask my husband! He ate like 5 of these crackers while I was arranging them on the serving plate, according to him the mango cream cheese topped crackers were just too good to resist. This recipe is super simple to make and you only need 5 ingredients to make it, yes only 5. Vanilla extract is optional.
Method
Start my gathering all your ingredients – Mango puree [you can use fresh or canned, I used a can of mango puree that I got from the Indian grocery store], chocolate sauce, fresh mint leaves, cream cheese and of course RITZ® crackers.
In a bowl add together softened cream cheese, mango puree, granulated white sugar and vanilla extract [optional].
Whisk till everything is well combined and mixture is smooth.
Take a RITZ® cracker and top it with around 1 teaspoon of the mango mixture. Repeat till the mixture in finished.
Drizzle chocolate sauce on top and garnish with fresh mint! Serve immediately.
How do you like your RITZ® crackers? Plain? Or topping them with cheese, peanut butter or any other fun ingredient? Let me know in the comments section below!
To make more such easy and delicious snacks, head over to Walmart and grab your own boxes of RITZ® crackers. I found mine in the “Crackers” aisle.

Hi Manali, loved this recipe. Can’t wait to try it. What can be substituted for pudina leaves? I don’t want to skip it as it gives a good contrast to the recipe.
Would love to know more such simple yet interesting recipes.
Basil leaves would be a good substitute!
Hi Manali,
Can you use Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese?
