I have been making indulgent desserts and breakfast almost everyday these days. The reason is that my family is here and I want to feed them all that I can before they leave. It’s their last week in US and the thought of them leaving is already making me super sad : ( but I’m trying to have as much fun as I can till they are here plus I will be seeing them again in December this year when we visit India so it’s not that bad. My brothers and my dad love nutella and so few days back I whipped up these Nutella French Toast for breakfast. And they said it’s the best breakfast they have ever had. This is nutella indulgence at it’s best, can’t get better!
All my french toast recipes calls for a lesser number of eggs than what you would expect normally. Hubby and me cannot eat the bread if it smells egg-y and that is the reason we most often do not like the french toast that we get in restaurants. So when I make it at home, I cut down on the number of eggs in the custard. If you like the traditional french toasts, add up to 4 eggs in this recipe and reduce the amount of liquid ingredients.
Nutella we all know is super sweet, I mixed it with some cream cheese and that actually cuts down on the sweetness and also adds so much flavor. I personally loved it. I stuffed the toast with this nutella filling and some fresh strawberries. Nutella is great with berries and I think adding fresh strawberries in between the french toast really elevated the flavors.

Place the dipped bread on the hot griddle pan.
Cook till both sides turn golden brown.
Remove the bread from pan and immediately dip it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Coat well on both sides.
Repeat the same with the second bread. Both breads should be coated with the cinnamon-sugar mixture from both sides.
Apple 2-3 teaspoons of nutella filling on both the breads and place some sliced strawberries on top. Repeat the whole process with the remaining breads till the custard is over
Cut into slices and serve the stuffed nutella french toast with more fresh strawberries and maple syrup.
* You can use any bread of your choice. Just make sure it’s thick. I used whole wheat bread here.
* Adjust the amount of eggs in the recipe to taste. You can use 4 eggs if you like, just cut down on the liquid ingredient then.
